Type II Anodizing
Type II anodizing is available in two options: Class 1 clear (non-dyed) and Class 2 (dyed). This process enhances the corrosion resistance and durability of aluminum while maintaining its lightweight properties. The coating thickness ranges from 0.0002 inches (2/10 of a thou) for non-dyed anodizing to 0.0008 inches (8/10 of a thou) for color-dyed anodizing.
Commonly used in architectural components, consumer products, and electrical housings, Type II anodizing provides both aesthetic appeal and added protection. This anodizing type improves resistance to wear and environmental factors, ensuring long-lasting performance across various applications.
Colours Available: Clear, Red, Blue, Black, Orange, Green. Gold, Teal, Purple, Yellow, Brown, Grey
Type III Industrial Hard Anodizing
Type III anodizing, also known as hard anodizing, is a precise electrochemical process that forms a thick and durable aluminum oxide layer, making it ideal for applications that require high wear and corrosion resistance. The process involves maintaining a sulfuric acid solution near 0°C while applying a high electrical current, resulting in a coating with a hardness of 60-70 on the Rockwell C scale. The anodized surface typically varies in color from light tan to black, depending on factors such as temperature, current density, and alloy composition.
This type of anodizing is widely used in industries such as aerospace, automotive, and manufacturing due to its exceptional durability and performance. The thick anodic coating not only enhances wear resistance but also offers excellent corrosion protection, making it suitable for high-performance components that are exposed to harsh environments.
